Den Helder Suns victory not enough, season over

It’s over and out for Den Helder Suns and Apollo Amsterdam. The basketball clubs have played their last game of the season. A win by Suns against Mons (83-78) was not enough after the previous defeat in the first leg (98-82).

At halftime, Suns was still on a comfortable margin with the Germans (45-35). That lead disappeared in the second half to 47-45, but the Nieuwediepers still came out on top. The five-point difference was not enough to undo the previous score.

In the regular Dutch competition, Den Helder finished eighth with four victories. The BNXT league was then merged and it finished second to last.

NH Sport recently made the report below about the season of the Suns. Text continues below the video

Apollo Amsterdam played its play-offs against Aalst. The first game was won by the team of Wierd Goedee (94-87), but today a hard loss followed: 101-67. They won only two games all season.
