Den Helder Suns succeeded in capturing Boyd van der Vuurst de Vries again. The international left in 2021 for a foreign adventure. He will return to the Suns next season.

Van der Vuurst de Vries previously played in Den Helder from 2017 to 2021. He left the Suns for Okapi Aalst (Belgium) and Castello (Spain), before signing with Landstede Hammers in Zwolle. “Boyd is intelligent, has a good shot and fits very well in the game system that we are going to use. The basketball player was initially surprised by the interest from his old club. “After a few conversations with coach Nelson, I believed that he can help me further with my career. He has a clear vision that appeals to me and that I can agree with.”

At the Suns, Van der Vuurst de Vries does not meet his old coach Peter van Noord. He decided to leave the basketball club after six years and was succeeded by Daniel Nelson.
