The basketball players of Den Helder started the play-offs for the championship with a defeat. Competitor Grasshoppers turned out to be too strong: 73-76. It is extra sour that Den Helder let the victory slip out of her hands in the last quarter. Grasshoppers are now 1-0 in the best of five series.
The Women’s Basketball League Final is a repeat of last year. Den Helder was too strong for Grasshoppers after four games and thus extended its national title. Den Helder did not start as strong as in 2022 this year.

Grasshoppers led 22-17 after the first quarter. The basketball team of Mario Bennes did not give up and fought back to 43-40 at halftime. In the last quarter it even led 73-71, but still handed over the victory.
Den Helder will play the next game in the play-offs next Tuesday. Whoever wins three times first is crowned national champion.
