Demi Lovato Ditched Her Gender-Neutral Pronouns – Explains Her Decision

Transgender singer Demi Lovato30, has abandoned the gender-neutral pronouns they and them. ET– magazine, today the artist uses the feminine pronouns she and her.

– I had to constantly teach people and explain why I identify myself with those pronouns. It was completely exhausting, Lovato opens in the Spanish magazine.

– I got tired of it. But I think for the same reason it’s important to keep spreading the word, Lovato adds, referring to the use of pronouns by some HLBTIG+ people.

Lovato emphasizes that she is still confident in her own identity. He hopes that society would consider people like him more liberally.

– For example, public toilets: I have to go to the women’s toilet, even though I don’t identify myself as such. I would feel more comfortable in a gender-neutral toilet, Lovato opens.

– Likewise, when I fill out official documents where I have to define my own gender. There are only options for male or female, and I don’t feel like I’m either. I see myself forced to choose a woman from the options, because there are no others. I think this has to change – hopefully with time there will be other options, Lovato adds.

Lovato spoke about her gender identity in 2021 and the very next year announced that she wanted the pronouns they and them to be used for her.

Lovato has previously said that she is pansexual, that is, her sexual interest is directed towards people representing social genders, including non-gendered people. Lovato is currently dating a Canadian artist By Jordan Lutes with which the singer announced in August 2022.
