Demanded for life against suspects murder Peter R. de Vries

The Public Prosecution Service has demanded life against Delano G. and Kamil E., the suspects in the case of the murder of Peter R. de Vries. G. is seen as a suspected shooter. Co-defendant Kamil E. would have been the driver of the getaway car.

According to the Public Prosecution Service, there is enough evidence that G. and E. are guilty of ‘co-perpetrating’ the murder of Peter R. de Vries and of having firearms, including the murder weapon. The public prosecutor also called the murder an “attack on our rule of law.” According to him, the murder was intended to instill fear and terror. “It is really up to here and no further for the Public Prosecution Service.”

The Public Prosecution Service sees sufficient ‘aggravating measures’ to ensure that the sentence for this murder must be higher than the sentences given for other murders. It takes into account, for example, that Peter R. de Vries himself was innocent and that the murder caused a shock to society. The Justice Department also takes into account that it was a contract murder – where the suspects were only concerned with financial gain – and that the attitude of the suspects “leaves many questions unanswered.”

The lawsuit came at the end of a long and emotional trial day. After three pro-forma cases, in which the terms of the lawsuit were discussed, the substantive treatment was scheduled for today.

During the hearing, Royce and Kelly de Vries, the children of Peter R., exercised their right to speak. Son Royce de Vries decided not to address the suspects. After reading the chat messages the men allegedly sent to each other before, during and after the murder, he concluded that this would be completely pointless. “Because they are not susceptible to remorse or our grief.”

Daughter Kelly deliberately looked at the suspects. “You took the life of one of my parents,” she told the two. “My dearest father, my buddy, confidant and caring grandfather of my child. And for what? Because you did not agree with him? Because someone offered you money? I can tell you today what it has done to me, but that makes no sense. If you can do what you have done, then my feelings don’t matter.”

Another session will take place next week. The court will rule on July 14.
