Demand: two years in prison for attempted rape of 16-year-old girl

A 57-year-old man from Emmen has been sentenced to two years in prison for an attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl from Emmen. Eight months of the sentence are suspended.

The rape attempt happened on January 3 of this year, at the girl’s home.

The Emmenaar was a family friend of the mother and regularly visited the house of the girl and her mother. He was supposed to get some groceries for the mother that day. In addition to the girl’s mother, a girl friend was also in the house on that day.

The later victim had gone to bed for an hour after work in her room that day. The resident of Emmen, who was in the living room, paid a visit to the toilet. The girl’s girlfriend noticed that the toilet visit took a very long time. At one point she took a look at the toilet and saw that it was not occupied.

She walked up the stairs to her friend’s room. There the friend found the Emmen star naked, on top of her friend. He held a pillow over her head. The friend yelled, “He’s holding a pillow on her!”

Shocked and caught, the resident of Emmen hurried away from the 16-year-old girl. He quickly dressed and went downstairs. There he was stopped by the girl’s mother. “Have you touched my daughter with your dirty fingers?” she called out, but the man managed to get away.

A short time later, he was arrested by the police at his own home. During interrogations at the station, he denied the accusation. The girl allegedly lured and seduced him. He also stated that in court today.

But according to the officer, the man went to the girl’s room and deliberately closed the door of her room. “The pillow on her head was supposed to prevent calls for help. Because her friend came in, worse could be prevented,” the officer said. He finds an attempted rape proven.

The resident of Emmen has a clean criminal record. He suffers from a mild intellectual disability, but the fact is fully attributable to him, according to experts. “He knew he had to stay away from the girl,” the officer said. In addition to the punishment, he must stay away from the girl’s residence.

Judgment is in two weeks.
