While the earthquakes in our country affected football negatively, Hatayspor and Gaziantep FK, which suffered the most in the Super League, made demands to the Turkish Football Federation regarding the rest of the league. Clubs, whose facilities were damaged, first requested asylum from the TFF. This request of the two clubs, who want to use the facilities in Riva and play their matches in Istanbul and nearby provinces, was positively received by the federation. While the Turkish Football Federation Management made similar offers to the two clubs, it opened its facilities in Riva. Hatayspor will start to stay in Riva, while Gaziantep FK is expected to come to Istanbul. It was learned that the two clubs did not intend to withdraw from the league and that they would not have any requests for the removal of relegation due to the disaster they experienced. Hatayspor and Gaziantep FK stated that they want to use Riva until the end of the season and that they can play the matches in the empty stadiums in Istanbul that week or in Kocaeli and Sakarya. The Turkish Football Federation was also requested to cover all expenses in this process.
MUSTAFA ÖZAT: WITHDRAWAL IS NOT A ISSUE
Hatayspor Press Spokesperson Mustafa Özat stated that there is no such thing as withdrawal from the league. In a statement to DHA, Mustafa Özat said, “May Allah help us. Do not miss your prayers, we hear death news from everywhere. There is no question of withdrawal from the league. We are not in a position to think about him. We are struggling with our lives. We do not have a decision, who “I don’t know such a thing. We are in trouble for our lives,” he said.
