A big party in Velsen-Zuid, because Telstar has recorded its first victory of the season. Quinten van den Heerik scored the 3-2 against Jong Ajax in the closing seconds, after which the supporters fell over the boards with joy. After the victory in the dying seconds, the Velsen residents are out of last place in the first division.
In a packed Sportpark Schoonenberg, Telstar supporters saw that trainer Mike Snoei made two changes compared to the match against ADO Den Haag (1-1 draw). Tim van de Loo and Danzell Gravenberch were given a starting place and Alex Plat moved a line back.
Goal-rich start
The visitors from Amsterdam started the cellar cracker in Velsen-Zuid best with an opportunity for Jaydon Banel. Telstar also became dangerous in the opening phase through Gravenberch, who formed the attacking duo together with Zakaria Eddahchouri. The team from Amsterdam quickly took the lead through Gabriel Misehouy. He outwitted Joey Houweling in the ninth minute with a shot from the left into the short corner: 0-1.
Dave Vos’ team could not enjoy the lead for long, as Telstar quickly leveled the score. Eddachchouri scored twelve seconds after kick-off after a smooth attack along the axis of the field. Telstar’s top scorer scored his third goal of the season.

The spectators were presented with an attractive match with opportunities for both teams. Eddahchouri was close to the second goal for Telstar, but he shot at the fists of Charlie Setford. The visitors showed little in attack, while Telstar became dangerous through Mees Kaandorp with a shot from the second line.
The Velsen residents came out of the dressing room very strong. Immediately after the break, Gravenberch helped his team take the lead with a slider into the short corner after he had entered the penalty area: 2-1. It meant his first goal in the Telstar shirt for the sturdy striker, who made an eager impression against the promises of Ajax. Soon after that goal, Young Ajax had two big chances. Misehouy shot over and Banel’s effort went just wide. Substitute Agougil was also close to scoring, but his effort with the inside of his foot turned too far away from the goal.

At Telstar, right back Robin Polley stood out in a positive way. The right back thundered over the right side a number of times and managed to put a cross on Kaandorp’s head halfway through the second half, but the bet went over. Young Ajax pushed towards the end. Misehouy was close to the equalizer, but his effort was saved from the intersection by Joey Houweling. A little later, substitute Janse came close again, but the Telstar goalkeeper was able to save again.
Crazy final phase
The goal was in the air for Jong Ajax and it came just before the end. Misehouy headed in a cross from the right to level the score at 2-2 for the visitors. He seemed to score a point for the Amsterdam team, but nothing could be further from the truth. In the dying seconds of the match it was Telstar that struck. Quinten van den Heerik hit a corner kick and gave the Velsen team the victory.
