Delgado used far-right setups to remove the prosecutor from the Tándem-Villarejo case

Look where, the State Attorney General, Dolores Delgado, used Acodap when she was interested in her plan -conceived when she was Minister of Justice of the Pedro Sánchez government- to remove the prosecutor Ignacio Stampa of the investigation of the ‘Tándem-Villarejo case’.

Because the State Attorney General’s Office attended the Prosecutor’s Office of the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid in July 2020 a complaint by the far-right party Vox against the prosecutor of the ‘Tándem-Villarejo case’, Ignacio Stampa, supported by newspaper clippings in which the aforementioned prosecutor, and his partner Miguel Serrano, appeared as alleged authors of leaks of the summary. The clippings contained articles by a journalist named María Montero.

The prosecutor, with an investigation behind him, came in clearly disadvantaged conditions compared to the other candidates.

The tax instructor of the proceedings in the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid, the lieutenant prosecutor Carlos Ruiz de Alegría, proposed on October 5, 2020 -after investigating four months- filing the proceedings upon discovering the montage against Stampa. But Álvaro García, Delgado’s right-hand man, asked prosecutor Alegría to carry out further investigations. On October 23, after performing them, he once again proposed the forceful file of the proceedings.

On October 24, 2020, Prosecutor Stampa and a team of policemen entered and searched the cell of former commissioner José Villarejo, in Estremera prison. They had data, coming from wiretaps, according to which Villarejo, an associate of his in prison, the lawyer Alfonso Pazos, in second degree prison, and the journalist María Montero, Stampa’s whistleblower, they maintained a connection to spread information about the summary and endorse the responsibility of it to the prosecutors.

The prosecutors Stampa and Serrano, after various proceedings, asked Judge Manuel García Castellón to summon María Montero to testify as accused of collaborate with the Villarejo criminal organization.

Eighteen months later, said citation is pending before the judge.

But the entry into Villarejo’s cell had consequences. Behold, before the Fiscal Council, which was to pronounce on October 27, on the permanent positions in the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, Acodap sent on October 26, 2020 at 8:14 p.m. (stamp of the General Registry of the Prosecutor’s Office General of the State of the 10:19 hours of October 27, 2020) a new writing.

In turn, on October 29, María Montero wrote to the FGE expanding her complaint “at the individual level, covered days before [26 de octubre] by the Acodap Association & rdquor ;.

Although the State Attorney General has assured the Fiscal Council that she had not intervened in the proceedings against Stampa, on November 1, 2020, she proved to be aware of the new complaint about which the chief prosecutor of the technical secretariat, Álvaro García, He had not yet requested – without any authority to request them – proceedings from the investigating prosecutor Carlos Ruiz de Alegría.

A year later, in November 2021, the Association of Prosecutors said they felt cheated and asked for the resignation of Dolores Delgado.

As to Vox, after provoking the setup against Stampa used by the state attorney general, Macarena Olona accused her, in November 2021, of carrying out “torticera maneuvers” to remove the aforementioned prosecutor from the Tándem-Villarejo case.
