Ice hockey professional Samuel Dube from German runner-up ERC Ingolstadt has to end his career prematurely at the age of just 20.
As a result of several thromboses, the center forward was only able to play one game in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL). After the home game on September 22, 2021 against Düsseldorfer EG, no further assignments were possible. In the previous season, Dube took part in the Junior World Championships with the German U20 team.
“I’ve known Samy since he was a little boy. It was always his big dream to become a professional ice hockey player. It’s incredibly sad for him, but also for us, that this has to end before it really begins.” said Ingolstadt’s sporting director Tim Regan.
