EHC Red Bull Munich has spectacularly extended its lead in the playoff final of the German Ice Hockey League against Ingolstadt.
Munich won 7-1 (4-1, 2-0, 1-0) at ERC Ingolstadt on Sunday (April 16, 2023) despite an early deficit and made it 2-0 in the Bavarian best-of-seven series.
On Tuesday (7.30 p.m.) both teams meet again for game three in Munich.

Konrad Abeltshauser (1st, 10th), Filip Varejcka (2nd) and Maximilian Kastner (3rd) turned the tide in Munich’s favor after Maurice Edwards (1st) fell behind early on. Austin Ortega (29th), Yasin Ehliz (37th) and Justin Schütz (53rd) followed up with more goals.
In the first duel between the two best in the preliminary round on Friday, the EHC took the lead thanks to a 2-1 lead.
Four wins are enough
The final is played in best of seven mode, so four wins are enough to win the German championship. Red Bull won the first game of the series in Munich 2-1 on Friday. The other dates are April 18, 21, 23, 25 and 27, with the last games only taking place if necessary.
