The Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven also won the second duel against the Schwenninger Wild Wings within two days in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).
The North Germans won the rematch on Thursday 3-1 (2-0, 0-0, 1-1). Bremerhaven is now in sixth place in the battle for the playoff spots with 65 points. Schwenningen, on the other hand, is further down the table.
Double packers Miha Verlic (8th/59th) and Jan Urbas (15th) scored for the home side. With Brett Pollock (53rd) just before the end, Schwenningen was only able to shorten the gap.
Bremerhaven had already won 4:3 after extra time on Wednesday. Ziga Jeglic scored the decisive goal in the fourth minute of overtime.
Meanwhile, the game scheduled for Friday between ERC Ingolstadt and the Krefeld Pinguinen was canceled due to an official ban on training and game operations in the city of Krefeld.
