Landmark victory in the DEL – the Eisbären Berlin dealt the Nuremberg Ice Tigers a major defeat. Munich also won.
The Eisbären won in Nuremberg 10:2 (3:1, 4:1, 3:1) and celebrated a real goal festival at the start of the 16th matchday. It was the fifth away win in a row for the Berliners – and they defended their lead in the table.
Patrice Cormier and Leonhard Pföderl scored two goals each, and Eric Mik, Tobias Eder, Jonas Müller, Morgan Ellis, Frederik Tiffels and Marco Nowak also scored for the Berliners, who consistently capitalized on their chances.
Munich wins in Iserlohn
There weren’t quite as many goals scored in the other halls. EHC Munich won against the new bottom-placed Iserlohn Roosters 5:2 (0:0, 2:1, 3:1). The Adler Mannheim beat the Löwen Frankfurt 3:2 (1:1, 0:1, 2:0).
The Straubing Tigers also defeated the Schwenninger Wild Wings 4:1 (0:0, 1:1, 3:0). Justin Scott (52nd) and Sandro Schönberger (54th) made the decision in favor of Bayern with a double strike in the final third.
The Düsseldorfer EG also won 4:2 (0:1, 2:1, 2:0) at the Augsburger Panthern. It was only DEG’s fourth win of the season. Düsseldorf’s most celebrated player was double goalscorer Kenny Agostino.
