Mannheim with fifth win in a row

Adler Mannheim remains close on the Berliners’ heels. The Mannheim team sent the Nuremberg Ice Tigers home with a 6-2 victory and celebrated their fifth win in a row. Kris Bennett was the Eagles’ most notable player with one goal and two assists.

Next disappointment for champions Munich

Red Bull Munich is not moving at all. The champions had to admit defeat 1:3 in Schwenningen. Former national coach Toni Söderholm’s team suffered their sixth defeat in a row across all competitions and are ninth in the table after their fourth DEL defeat in a row, already eleven points behind leaders Eisbären Berlin.

Munich took the lead early in Schwenningen through Maximilian Daubner (6th), but then lost the line again. Benjamin Marshall (39th), Peter Spornberger (43rd) and William Weber (59th) turned the game around. The Wild Wings climbed to third place with the win.

DEG still in crisis

There was also another disappointment for the Düsseldorfer EG. DEG lost 1-2 in extra time to the Straubing Tigers and suffered their tenth defeat of the season. In the table, the Düsseldorf team, who parted ways with assistant coach and club icon Daniel Kreutzer during the week, remain in second-to-last place with a meager 8 points, only the Iserlohn Roosters (7) are still behind.

Cologne celebrates overtime victory in Wolfsburg

The Rhenish rival from Cologne, on the other hand, was able to celebrate in overtime: Maximilian Kammerer scored the winning goal after six seconds of extra time to make it 5:4 and ensure “sudden death”.
