Deichmann opens a new distribution center in Corby, UK

Shoe retailer Deichmann opened the doors of a new distribution center at Centrix Business Park on Phoenix Parkway in Corby, England, earlier this month. The new warehouse is approximately 15,000 square meters, larger than Trafalgar Square in London.

It will create 50 new jobs in the region and support Deichmann’s continued growth by improving the level of service across the company and allowing the brand full autonomy in managing its inventory and logistics.

“ We are very pleased to open our brand new warehouse in Corby. Deichmann has been very successful with its online growth and the expansion of its UK stores. The new warehouse will allow us to improve our service and ensure we can keep up with customer demand,” comments Samuel Deichmann, Member of the Board of Deichmann SE and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Deichmann-UK Shoes Limited, in a Message.

Corby was chosen as the location for the new UK distribution facility as it is central to the network of 120 UK stores and is in close proximity to Deichmann’s headquarters in the nearby Borough of Harborough.

Deichmann commissioned Clowes Developments to develop the site, which was built on derelict land, and invested around £3 million in the facility, which took just under a year to complete. Construction of the new facility, which has a capacity of just over a million pairs of shoes, was led by WinvicConstruction, the UK’s leading specialist in industrial buildings
