The Berlin streetwear supplier Defshop GmbH has hired a new manager for its own retail trade in view of its current expansion plans. On Monday, the company announced the appointment of Raphael Duffner as retail manager.
Duffner will take up his new position on August 1 and then “structure the current stores in Berlin and Cologne and position them in line with the Defshop strategy ‘HipHop’,” the retailer announced. “The agenda includes the opening of further branches, special pop-up stores with event character, and the transfer of physical retail to the digital status quo in 2022.”
Most recently, Duffner worked for the Swedish sneaker retailer Sneakersnstuff (SNS) as store manager in Berlin. Before that, according to his future employer, he gained retail experience at Breuninger, H&M and Kickz. “Raphael is another piece of the puzzle in the implementation of our strategy,” said Defshop CEO Franco Lucà in a statement. “With his experience in the retail business and his passion for hip-hop culture and the sneaker & streetwear scene, he is a great addition to our team.”
