The transfer of AZ defender Sam Beukema to the Italian Bologna has been officially completed. Both clubs confirm the transfer. Beukema signs a multi-year contract with the number nine in Serie A.
In 2021, Beukema exchanged Go Ahead Eagles for AZ. In the shirt of the North Holland team, he played 81 games and managed to score five times. In January he injured his knee, but after a two-month rehabilitation he was able to finish the season without any problems.
At Bologna, Beukema will be on the field with Joshua Zirkzee and Jerdy Schouten, among others.
Successor
AZ sees Beukema’s successor in PEC Zwolle defender Thomas Beelen. Whether that transfer will succeed is the question, because PSV, Feyenoord and FC Twente are also interested in Beelen.
