Defense warns of noise nuisance during international military exercise | Inland

An international military exercise lasting three weeks could cause noise nuisance in large parts of the Netherlands, Defense warns. 37 helicopters are taking part in the Falcon Autumn exercise, which are allowed to fly low over.

They also practice with ammunition and grenades, which can cause explosions. In total, more than a thousand soldiers from the Netherlands, Germany, Poland and the United States participate.

Falcon Autumn is training to be internationally prepared for large-scale airborne operations. The Dutch 11 Airmobile Brigade and the Defense Helicopter Command are hosting the exercise, which will start on Monday and last until November 18. The aircraft is flown from the Lieutenant General Best Barracks in Vredepeel in Limburg.

The soldiers practice, among other things, from the air and from the ground the construction of a beachhead in enemy territory. The Apache attack helicopters also fly. Men and equipment are dropped from helicopters. In the last week of Falcon Autumn there is a large joint exercise at the former airport Valkenburg. Training takes place daily from 6am to midnight, but not on Sundays.

Although the exercise takes place in a public space, it is not possible to visit the exercise, so let defense know.
