Tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipás has qualified for the semifinals of the masters tournament in Monte Carlo. The Greek, who won the tournament in 2021, won in the quarterfinals in three sets against Argentina Diego Sebastian Schwartzman. It became 6-2, 6-7 (3) and 6-4 for the Greek.
In the third set, the number five in the world came back strongly from a 0-4 deficit. As a result, he remains in the race to defend his title in Monte Carlo for the time being.
Tsitsipás will face Alexander Zverev, the German number three in the world, in the semifinals.
Earlier on Friday, Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov and Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina already qualified for the semifinals of the masters tournament. In it, Dimitrov and Davidovich Fokina compete against each other.
