FC Volendam lost today by a large margin to Sparta: 1-4. Fullback George Cox started for the fifth time for the Volendam team and saw that he and his teammates did not get up at the important moments. “We are too naive,” said the Englishman.

Calvin Twigt once again played a prominent role in midfield at FC Volendam. However, the born Amsterdammer could not ensure more goal attempts for his team. “We know when we play at home that we are very strong. I think we have proven that again. FC Volendam coach Matthias Kohler saw that his team had a lot of ball possession, but that a number of mistakes were made at the decisive moments. “I was very happy with the game in the first half. In the end there was more to it. We were punished at certain times.”
