As part of the NBA’s Abu Dhabi Games, national player Maximilian Kleber suffered a defeat in his first appearance after his noisy withdrawal from the Basketball World Cup with the Dallas Mavericks.
The Texans lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves 99-111 at the Etihad Arena on Thursday.
Shortly before the start of preparation for the World Cup in Asia, where Germany won its first gold medal in history, Kleber canceled the tournament after an argument with captain Dennis Schröder. The reason was Schröder’s criticism of the Würzburger’s behavior in a podcast.
Dallas plays Minnesota twice in Abu Dhabi. Another duel is scheduled for Saturday. The NBA season begins on October 24th. Kleber played a good eight minutes and scored two points.
Dallas used 18 professionals, the Mavericks’ top scorer was the Slovenian superstar Luka Doncic with 25 points in just 17 minutes.
