Agnetha and Frida are not really involved in the marketing of the “Voyage” album, the two singers stay out of the promo – apart from a few film snippets and in front of the recording studio, they are not publicly visible. Björn and Benny do the speech work. The previous videos for the single releases “I Still Have Faith In You”, “Don’t Shut Me Down”, “Just A Notion” and “Little Things” contain archive material or other actors.

Fans who would like to see the quartet as it looks today in a video get creative. As in this self-made clip for “Don’t Shut Me Down”, which shows the four musicians singing using deepfake with photo material.

Some users find the video strange. “Wow, a bit weird and occasionally spooky, but also cleverly done in blending then and now,” writes one. Another: “Haha poor Agnetha. From the angle it looks like she has a really thick neck. Funny to look at. With better photos it could be better, especially for the two girls.”

Some commentators point out that deepfake is not yet mature enough, some to the “uncanny valley” effect, according to which artificial figures that are too human-like have a rather deterrent effect.

But most fans are enthusiastic. One fan wrote: “Awesome! It looks real to me!”
