The Flemish government appears to have to reverse the promises made to farmers for a more flexible fertilizer policy. After all, water quality in agricultural areas has deteriorated again. The standard for nitrate was exceeded in a quarter of the watercourses examined, according to ‘De Standaard’ from a new report by the Flemish Environment Agency (VMM).
