Paris Brunner’s personality has been a big topic of conversation around the club at Borussia Dortmund for more than a week. The offensive jewel, the current top scorer for the BVB U19, was suspended for disciplinary reasons before last weekend and was also not in the Dortmund squad in the Youth League against Newcastle United. Now there is a new information status.
The club-affiliated “Ruhr Nachrichten” reported on Friday afternoon that Paris Brunner would not return to the black and yellow squad for the upcoming A-youth home game against Fortuna Düsseldorf on Sunday.
According to information from the newspaper, after the U19s returned from Newcastle, there was another conversation between the club management around sports director Sebastian Kehl and youth boss Lars Ricken as well as the player and his parents. According to the media report, an official decision will not be announced this weekend. Accordingly, the Dortmund U19 goalscorer would be out for at least one more game.
Brunner is worried about a place in the squad for the U17 World Cup
In the last few days, however, there have been increasing reports that the U17 national player will soon be pardoned. What exactly the youngster was guilty of is still unclear. To date, BVB had only admitted to an “incident” that was said to have been serious and thus forced the club bosses to take action.
Brunner is meanwhile worried about his nomination for the U17 World Cup, which starts on November 10th in Indonesia. Young national coach Christian Wück will announce next week whether he will be at Borussia Dortmund despite the quarrels. By then the future at BVB should have been decided.
In the current season in the A-Youth Bundesliga West, Paris Brunner scored ten goals in seven games.
