Where the World Cup teams come from
32 teams are taking part, most of which will come from UEFA territory and the least from the Oceanian Confederation. The finals group stage draw will take place in Qatar on 1 April. There, three lots will be placeholders for the two winners of the intercontinental playoffs as well as for the postponed European playoff tournament.
