With Remachine, the Swedish-Dutch choreographer Jefta van Dinther reserved the Concertgebouw later in the evening. His new work had a Belgian premiere and a tour debut at the same time. The stage-filling rotating disc around which Van Dinther has built his performance traveled to Bruges. Dancers struggled with the force of the machine, moving in or against the direction of the wheel. “It is an interesting and complicated interplay between something organic and artificial, digital and analogue,” explains the choreographer. “The body not only functions organically but also transforms into a machine.”
