A deceased person was found in a ditch along the Klippad in Koedijk. The identity has not yet been disclosed. An investigation is now underway and divers from the arrest team have been called to retrieve the body from the water.
Around 2.45 pm, the police received a report from a bystander, according to a police spokesperson. “That person saw someone in the water.”
When the emergency services arrived, the person was already dead and help was of no avail. The area has been cordoned off for investigation and is treating the incident as a crime scene, reports a photographer who is there.
“At first a small part was cordoned off, but then it turned out that something was still lying somewhere, a coat, and then half the park was cordoned off.” Police may release more information later today.
