The French sporting goods provider Decathlon rolls out his cooperation with United Repair Center (URC) for textile repairs in Germany.
The repair specialist will offer Decathlon customers: In the future, DECATHLON announced on Thursday. Among other things, this includes the seal of waterproof seams. The companies have previously cooperated in a pilot project in the Netherlands.
“It not only offers high -quality repairs, but also makes an important social contribution by offering people with difficulties on the job market,” said Alexandra Kaufmann, recycling leader at Decathlon Germany. “With the start of the Revice project last year, we are increasingly relying on services that extend the lifespan of products.” So far, Decathlon in Germany has only offered textile repairs to a small extent and primarily for the tent range, says Kaufmann. The expansion of the cooperation therefore also offers new opportunities for the repair offer.
Customer: Inside, your defective textiles can hand in in any Decathlon branch. Then they are sent to a so-called City workshop from Decathlon and from there to URC. The repair should then usually be two weeks. In addition to the end consumer products: Inside, articles that were damaged in internal processes should also be transmitted to URC so that they can then be sold via the “Second Use” used goods service.
URC has locations in Amsterdam and London and works with more than 25 brands.
