Decathlon closes branch in Munich-Schwanthalerhöhe

The French sporting goods supplier Decathlon is giving up one of its four locations in Munich. The branch in Forum Schwanthalerhöhe will be closed this month, the company announced on Friday. The remaining three stores in the Bavarian capital, which are located in the Mona shopping center as well as in Unterföhring and in the Elisenhof at the main station, will remain in place, according to the retailer.

Decathlon explained that the decision to close the branch in Schwanthalerhöhe was made as part of a regular review of all locations “in terms of location, size and range”. However, the company now attaches “great importance to finding the best individual solution for all Schwanthalerhöhe teammates”. To this end, “the employees will be examined to see which comparable positions can be offered in the surrounding Munich branches in order to ensure a smooth transition,” says a statement.
