The attack, claimed by the Islamist terror group al-Shabaab, ended after about 3 p.m. Saturday night. All attackers were eliminated.
The attackers stormed the hotel on Friday, which is popular with government employees, journalists and businessmen. At least two explosive devices were activated in the attack and the terrorists fired around. Dozens of hotel guests and staff were freed, but on Saturday the terrorists still held an unknown number of people hostage.
