Death toll from serious road accident in Canada rises to sixteen | Abroad

The woman was hospitalized after the collision on June 15 and succumbed to her injuries, Canadian police said in a press release on Wednesday.

The collision between a truck and a minibus with elderly people on board occurred Thursday afternoon in the province of Manitoba, in central Canada. The two vehicles collided at a two-way intersection.

Nine others are still in hospital, several of them in critical condition. A total of 25 people between the ages of 58 and 88 were in the minibus at the time of the accident. They were on their way to a casino.

The first findings show that the van would not have given priority to the truck. The traffic accident is one of the worst in Canadian history.
