Death of Ignace Crombé: “Only good memories”
The wife of football coach Sven Vermant looks back with a warm feeling on what Ignace Crombé has done for her. Stefanie Van Vyve: “Meanwhile, it has been 27 years since I became Miss Belgian Beauty. I owe a lot to him. First of all, my wonderful year as Miss. He was a fantastic organizer. If you did performances or the presentation of a show with him, then everything was always organized down to the last detail. You could count on that 100 percent.”
“Now suddenly those fantastic years come to an end in which he has written a part of my life for me. Without him I would not have known my husband and my family would not be there either. I am very grateful to him for that .”
Crombé grew up in Lauwe, but has lived in Deerlijk for the last twelve years. The mayor of that municipality was in close contact with Ignace. “We recently had contact with Ignace,” says mayor Claude Croes (CD&V). “He sent us a message from his sick bed before my wedding. I remember him as a top organizer. He has helped many associations in Deerlijk with that and those are things that remain with me. He had many contacts in Deerlijk and was also loved in the congregation. If he could offer support anywhere, he did.”
