With the investigation into the death of the Pibe closed, Dr. Luque also risks a sentence of 8 to 25 years
Eight health workers will be sent to trial on charges of “simple murder with possible intent” at the end of the investigation into the death of Diego Armando Maradona. This was reported by the Argentine newspaper La Nación, which cites judicial sources. Maradona died on November 25, 2020 at the age of 60, due to a heart attack.
EVEN THE DOCTOR
–
Among the recipients of the measures there is also the family doctor, Leopoldo Luque, the psychiatrist and some nurses. The prosecution’s request was therefore accepted, which had reported deficiencies and negligence in the care of the Pibe. The 8 indicted face sentences ranging from 8 to 25 years. An appraisal concluded that Maradona had been “abandoned to his fate” by the medical team. Just Luque, a doctor and confidant of Maradona, has always claimed to have “tried to help” Maradona.
