Duncan Laurence, Nick Schilder, Marco Bakker, Numidia, Douwe Bob, MEAU and Mell are the candidates who will participate in the hit show Best Singers this year. What do viewers of the program think? They are ruthless. On the Instagram page of the AvroTros title, they go wild on Duncan’s participation.

Fake artist

It is striking how many negative reactions are pouring in about Duncan. “Leave Duncan at home, he’s overwrought anyway. Better for everyone”, says Mr Cor.

Mrs. Winnie: “My first thought: super nice candidates. Second thought: too bad that arrogant Duncan is participating.”

And regular viewer Evert: “Duncan was sooo exhausted that he can’t bring his new release. But want to participate in Best Singers? What a fake artist. I think I’m going to skip a year.”

‘What a waste!’

It’s really unbelievable how many viewers are disappointed with Duncan’s participation. Not a handful, not a dozen, but hordes. It goes on and on on that socials page of Best Singers. “It seemed like fun, until the name Duncan came up. I only skip a year”, Jeanet sighs.

Anne is bummed like a plug. “How cool that Marco Bakker is participating, I think Nick and Meau are also very cool. But gosh, what a shame that Duncan Laurence is participating. 😫 That would be a reason for me not to watch.”

Patricia: “It’s a pity that Duncan is in it. Nominate people for the Eurovision Song Contest yourself and leave them to fend for themselves. He could have taken an example from his guidance by Ilse then. And now crying that he’s through it. 🤦🏻‍♀️”

What does Yvonne say?

It also remains a strange story that Duncan reported on Friday that he is postponing his entire album due to mental exhaustion, but that he cheerfully started the intensive recordings of Dear Singers on Saturday. According to RTL Boulevard, it is a great shame that AvroTros apparently just keeps him to his contract. Or is this different?

Yvonne Coldeweijer writes: “This is passive aggressive from Boulie because they also know that Duncan does not have a burnout and are trying to cancel his participation in this way. (…) Trust me, Duncan doesn’t burn out. He has suffered too much damage to his image during the Eurovision Song Contest and needs Best Singers to get positive attention again.”
