Deafblind, solidarity yarn bombing is back

Rcolorful paintings and pom poms, made in knit or crochet, to color the world through a thread, a simple thread. Today, June 27, in the International day of deafblindnesshave been placed in parks, on trees, benches and symbolic objects in the 10 regions where the League of the Golden Thread, to give life to a large solidarity patchwork. An alternative and explosive way to raise public awareness of the specific disability of the deafblind, chosen for the third consecutive year by the Foundation that deals with it.

International day of deafblindness, the colors of Yarn Bombing are back

A large-scale artistic and solidarity project proposed internationally by the network Deafblind International (DBI). Or the organization that supports worldwide the development of services to improve the quality of life of deafblind people, of which the Golden Thread League Foundation it’s part.

For weeks in the centers and territorial offices of the Body, deafblind users have been involved in the creation of artifacts. An activity made possible thanks to occupational workshops, which aim to stimulate the creativity and skills of those who cannot see or hear. Their creations have been joined by those of family members, supporters, volunteers, staff and friends of the Organization.

Where to see these sui generis works of art? In Osimo (AN) at the fountain in Piazza Boccolino, on the planters in front of the Palazzo Comunale, in the panoramic point of the Tre Pini.
