The ‘Transfer Deadline Day’ is over. During the last day that clubs can buy and sell players, nothing spectacular happened at the Brabant clubs. While many eyes were focused on the events surrounding PSV striker Cody Gakpo, some clubs managed to strengthen themselves at the last minute with opportunities. Here’s an overview:
Helmond Sport and TOP Oss active:
It will come as no surprise, but the ambitious Helmond Sport had a busy day on the closing day of the market. The Helmonders were able to strengthen themselves with Michael Chacón. The midfielder was promoted to the Eredivisie with Excelsior last season and played twenty-nine games for the Rotterdam team that year. Helmond also did business with partner club KV Mechelen: Attacker Chris Kalulika (20) and left back Dylan Dassy (19) are rented for one season.
The selection at TOP Oss also changed in three places. For example, the number 15 of the First Division saw goalkeeper Norbert Alblas leave for Excelsior. The club has already strengthened itself this summer with Thijs Jansen. This Feyenoord mercenary must take the place of Alblas.
To complete the threesome of goalkeepers again, the Ossenaren got goalkeeper Fason Fitz-Jim from Telstar. The club also went for Utrecht defender Joshua Mukeh (19).
FC Den Bosch does business with KV Oostende
FC Den Bosch announced the arrival of Evangelos Patoulidis (20) two hours before the market closed. Attacking midfielder Patoulidis is hired from partner club KV Oostende, where he played fifteen matches.
RKC and Willem II are ready:
Before the start of the Deadline Day, it was already clear to RKC Waalwijk and Willem II: They are going to make do with the selection that is now there. Both clubs saw one player leave at the end of the transfer window. Lennerd Daneels of RKC left for Roda JC while Willem II tore up Rick Zuijderwijk’s contract.
FC Eindhoven and NAC:
At Eindhoven and NAC it was quiet in terms of transfers. There were no changes within the selection at these two clubs. The Breda club wanted to strengthen itself with an attacking midfielder. Lance Duijvestijn was an important candidate for this, but NAC and Almere City could not figure it out.
