One person died in an apartment fire in Schöneberg on Friday evening.
According to initial information, a fire broke out around 9:30 p.m. on Maaßenstrasse in the side wing of an apartment building in an apartment on the first floor. The fire brigade was on site with 54 emergency services. During the extinguishing work, a lifeless resident was found.
The person could not be resuscitated and died at the scene. According to initial information, another resident was injured. The apartment is said to have a particularly high fire load. The fire has since been extinguished.
A fire department of the Berlin police will start the investigation after the extinguishing work.
