In Baarlo, Limburg, a dead person was found in a burned-out car during the night from Sunday to Monday. Officers found the body of De Berckt after a “series of loud bangs”, the police reported on Twitter.
What exactly happened is unclear. The crime scene at De Berckt has been cordoned off for investigation. Along the road are a golf club and the old Kasteel de Berckt, which is now used as a group accommodation.
Baarlo is part of the municipality of Peel en Maas and is located south of Venlo.
