The person who was shot dead on Sunday at the trailer park at De Vinnen in Maarheeze is a 34-year-old man. His identity is being investigated further, but according to a police spokeswoman it is in any case clear that he did not live at the camp.
Around four o’clock in the afternoon, the police received a report of a shooting at the trailer park. Shots were fired several times. Help was of no avail for the 34-year-old victim.

A little further on, officers found a 38-year-old man from Waalre. He was shot in the thigh and had to be taken to the hospital. He was allowed to go home on Monday and will be questioned by the detectives.
Shortly after the shooting, the police arrested a 30-year-old suspect from Maarheeze at the trailer park. A firearm was found and seized. He is detained for further investigation and will be brought before the examining magistrate. An argument between the men is believed to have led to the shooting.
