Someone died this afternoon in an apartment on Sint John’s Wort in Diemen. One person was also seriously injured. The police forensics and criminal investigation department are investigating.
Around 4:10 p.m., several ambulances, fire trucks and an air ambulance were called to a report of resuscitation. The seriously injured victim was removed from the home by the fire brigade and taken to hospital by ambulance.
A police spokesperson cannot yet say anything about the identities of the victims. It is also unclear what happened. “We are investigating the circumstances,” the spokesperson said. There are now also two police containers in the street.
Erik Boog, mayor of Diemen, late to know X to be shocked. He speaks of a terrible incident. “We sympathize with those involved. Much is still unclear. The police are now conducting an extensive investigation. Hopefully, clarity can soon be provided about the circumstances.”
The police have not yet said whether any arrests have been made.
