Someone died in a shooting at a caravan camp on De Vinnen in Maarheeze on Sunday afternoon. A second victim was taken to hospital. Police have arrested a suspect and seized a firearm.
Around a quarter past four, the police received several reports that shots had been fired at De Vinnen in Maarheeze. Police found the two victims there. One of them died at the camp from his injuries.
The second victim would have fled towards the church at the end of the street. A trail of blood can be seen on the road all along the route. He was eventually treated for his injuries there and later rushed to hospital. The police spokesman could not say how serious his injuries are.
Bullet casings
There is a car at the trailer park, the windows of which have been shot out. Bullet casings lie on the floor.
Police cordoned off the area. The detective and forensic investigation are present to secure traces and to investigate. A police helicopter flies over the area and an arrest team is also present.
