The police received a report of a ‘conflict’ on Gildenlaan in Velsen-Noord around 8:45 p.m. There they found a man on the street who had been stabbed. The victim was resuscitated and rushed to hospital, but died from his injuries later that evening.
A 34-year-old man from Velsen-Noord has been arrested and is suspected of involvement in the stabbing. The police say that it is not yet clear what preceded it. However, tracks have been secured and local residents have been spoken to.
