The West Flemish wildlife sanctuary, De Zonnegloed, has been closed since Storm Ciaran. The storm at the beginning of this month caused the park to keep its doors closed for safety reasons. Due to the persistent rain in recent weeks, part of the reception center was flooded.
A lot of that water has now disappeared, but the operators have still chosen to remain closed this weekend. There is only a lot of water at the back of the park, along the bear and bison walking paths. This ensures that these paths are not walkable.
