Lions don’t reward themselves
In overtime, the guests in Bergisch Gladbach would have the better nerves and got the away win. The Lions got off to an optimal start and went into the second quarter at 25:17 with an eight-point lead. There, both teams were nervous and weak at the end. The round ended at 10:10 and meant the break lead for the hostesses.
The game went back and forth in the second half. In the closing stages, the Rheinland Lions initially pulled away slightly, but Freiburg kept coming back into play and, after the thriller, finally had the better end for themselves in the last few seconds.
