The German basketball players refueled self-confidence in the European Championship preparation even without the injured captain Marie Gülich.

The team of national coach Lisa Thomaidis defeated Turkey 81:65 (41:39) and won the first victory in the second test before the European Championship (18 to 29 June).

German top scorer in Heidelberg was Frieda Bühner with 30 points, for the Turkish people Elif Bayram (16) was the most successful.

As a captain, Alexandra Wilke led the selection of the German Basketball Federation (DBB), since the actual captain Gülich had torn the cruciate ligament in the first test against the Czech Republic (70:86) and thus failed for the European Championship.

During the week, Thomaidis focused on the defensive in training, after starting difficulties (2: 8) the DBB team took over the game control. Without the WNBA players Nyara Sabally, Leonie Fiebich and Luisa Geiselsöder, who are currently still demanding in the US Profiliga, the German basketball players are decisive in the third quarter (25:15).

Before the European Championship start on June 19 in Hamburg against Sweden, the German women still test in Belgium (June 12th and 14th).
