The new national basketball coach Lisa Thomaidis has to cope with two failures in preparation for the European Championship.
Rachel Arthur (Rutronik Stars Keltern) and Theresa Simon (BC pharmaserv Marburg) left the training camp in Kienbaum because of injuries. Lina Sontag (University of California) was nominated.
Arthur has sustained a serious knee injury while Simon has ankle problems. This was announced by the German Basketball Federation (DBB) on Monday. The team has been in Kienbaum under the direction of Canadian Thomaidis since Wednesday.
The European Championship will take place in Israel and Slovenia (June 15th to 25th). In the Ljubljana venue, the DBB team will face co-hosts Slovenia, vice-European champions France and Great Britain in the preliminary round.
