On the night of Sunday (CET), the eagerly awaited third duel between the two boxing superstars Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez and Gennady Golovkin will take place in Las Vegas. Four world titles are at stake in the last part of the trilogy. If you want to see the fight in the States, you have to dig deep into your pocket.
Álvarez and Golovkin have faced each other twice in the ring in recent years. In both fights, the Mexican was declared the winner. Controversial verdicts, which then caused a lot of conversation. Now the third duel is on the program in Las Vegas.
While the two superstars in the ring want to ensure clear conditions, many fans in the USA will probably look into the tube, because just in time for the mega fight, the streaming service “DAZN” has tightened the price screw again.
85 euros for Álvarez vs. Golovkin
If non-“DAZN” customers want to see the fight in the States, they must first take out a subscription for at least one month. Cost point: 19.99 US dollars (approx. 20 euros). To do this, they still have to purchase the fight individually. And this is where it gets really pricey, with the streaming service charging a $64.99 pay-per-view fee for the fight. So if you are not a “DAZN” customer, you will have to pay a total of around 85 euros for the fight.
“Canelo’s” third fight against Golovkin is only his second since joining “DAZN”. The Mexican signed a mega contract with the streaming service a few months ago, which already broadcast the fight against Dmitrii Bivol, which Álvarez lost unanimously on points. For this duel, the fans had to put five US dollars less on the table.
The reason for the recent price increase is the battle stock exchange, which is now significantly higher. “Canelo” collects a total of 65 million US dollars for the third duel, Golovkin still 43 million.
