Anyone who wants to subscribe to DAZN as a new customer, mainly because of the Bundesliga and Champions League, has to dig deeper into their pockets. The streaming service only changed the subscription model and prices a few months ago.
New price hammer at DAZN! The streaming service is changing its subscription structures for new customers – and fans will not be happy about that.
The Friday and Sunday games in the Bundesliga and games in the Champions League can now only be seen with a premium subscription “DAZN Unlimited” – no longer in the “DAZN Standard” package as before. Cost point: The football trailer pays 44.99 euros for one month! This price was previously at 39.99 euros.
Important: The price only applies if you order a new DAZN. The price does not change for existing customers! If you extend, you keep your previous price. Only if you quit and then want to start again do you have to pay the higher price.
The price for an annual subscription to “Unlimited” (mandatory for twelve months) remains the same: EUR 29.99 per month. However, until now there was still the “standard” package with Bundesliga and Champions League for 24.99 euros per month. So: five euros more per month. In the final bill, it goes up from 300 to 360 euros per year.
In addition, it is only possible to watch live streams on two devices at the same time with the “Unlimited” annual subscription. But that was the case before. Two streams and six devices are allowed here. The other packages are one stream and three devices.
The streaming service had already turned the price screw at the beginning of 2022 – and caught a real shitstorm for it.
Not everything is more expensive at DAZN
But not everything at DAZN is getting more expensive: The standard “Super Sports” package is now 5 euros cheaper – from 24.99 to 19.99 euros per month in an annual subscription (with monthly cancellation it is 24.99 euros per month). There are many international football matches (Series A, Ligue 1 and international matches) to watch, but without the Bundesliga and Champions League. This package is aimed at fans of the UFC, NFL or NBA, for example, who do not want to pay for the premium football rights.
With the “World” package, with live sports such as women’s soccer, darts or handball, the customer can now save three euros a month with an annual subscription. In future, this will cost EUR 6.99 instead of EUR 9.99 per month (EUR 9.99 if it can be canceled monthly).
Some customers were puzzled because the passage says when the subscription is taken out: From the 13th month the subscription costs 44.99 euros. Reason: DAZN is legally obliged to ensure that the subscription is not automatically extended by one year. If the customer does not take care of their subscription, they would automatically switch to the subscription that can be canceled on a monthly basis. However: DAZN informs customers in good time that this change is pending and offers to extend it for a year at the previous conditions – or to cancel.
