Day program World Championships in athletics: Hassan, Bol and Klaver go for final place | NOW

On the sixth day of the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, no fewer than seven Dutchmen will take action. Jorinde van Klinken will go on Wednesday (Dutch time in the night from Wednesday to Thursday) for a medal in the discus throw, while Sifan Hassan, Femke Bol and Lieke Klaver are chasing a final place on the track.

From Klinken can become the first Dutchman ever to receive a World Cup medal in the discus throw. De Assense, who studies in the United States, impressed in qualifying on Monday with a second place.

Hassan runs in the series of 5,000 meters. It should not be a problem for the two-time Olympic champion, who finished fourth in the 10,000 meters on Saturday, to reach the final. Maureen Koster is the other Dutch trump at this distance.

bol In the semi-finals, she is on the hunt for a place in the final battle of the 400 meters hurdles, the distance at which she took Olympic bronze last year. In Eugene, the Amersfoortse is again one of the favorites.

Clover will have to rise above himself in the semi-finals of the 400 meters for a place in the final. The North Hollandse is in shape, she showed with a Dutch record in the series (50.24).

The four runners of the silver relay team will all come into action on Wednesday, but individually.

Bonevacia goes for scoop

With the men want Liemarvin Bonevacia reach the 400m final at a World Cup for the first time. Last year he reached the final battle at the Tokyo Games, but it will have to be harder in Eugene than his 45.82 in the series.
