Kerttu Niskanen collected a hefty jackpot from the Tour de Ski, which ended on Sunday.
Niskanen finished third overall in the Tour and won two races on the ski tour. The money comes to a total of 49,417 euros.
The top 20 skiers in the overall standings of the Tour will receive prize money. Niskanen received 40,000 Swiss francs, or 42,971 euros, from his investment.
From his two wins, the Finnish star earned 6,000 Swiss francs, or 6,446 euros.
Krista Pärmäkoski on the other hand, he received 16,114 euros in prize money from the Tour.
At the Tour de Ski, only the top three of the races receive prize money. Pärmäkoski’s best result from a single race was seventh place, but he was seventh overall.
Perttu Hyvärinen earned a total of 5,372 euros from the Tour. 3,223 euros came out of winning the third stage, and 17th place in the overall competition brought 2,149 euros. The Tour multiplied Hyvärinen’s income for the season, as he had collected only 950 euros in prize money before Toblach’s victory in the World Cup.
